4 year-old Axel Foster, from Oklahoma, had his arm ripped off by a pit bull, this past week, after attempting to pet one of the animal’s puppies.
The boy was being watched by his grandparents in Tecumseh when the incident occurred.
When officers arrived to the scene, they found the grandmother and the boy in the driveway. One officer placed a tourniquet on the child and saw his arm in the dog pen. One of the puppies was actually eating it.
More officers and animal control came to the location to assist with the vicious animals. The dog that bit the boy’s arm off had to be put to sleep.
The 4-year-old endured several surgeries after being transported to a hospital. He is still recovering.
Officials are investigating the matter as an accident, as the grandparents have no history of neglect. Authorities are not looking to press any charges against them.
