Pink Hard Hatz, A Woman-Owned Construction Business, Breaks Barriers

1.1kviews

Sashe Ivy owns Pink Hard Hatz Construction which is a full-service, licensed and bonded construction business, in Chicago, Illinois.

There is less than 11% of women in construction work, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has noted.

So, it is Ivy’s goal to increase those numbers.

“I was sitting in a meeting. Once again, it was all-male contractors. And I thought about how females can do this,” she stated.

“I always have work coming because what I’m finding out is that people, especially women and seniors, want to see a woman. They’re tired of being taken advantage of,” Ivy added.

Ivy has teamed up with Chicago Women in Trades. This is a non-profit that strives to get women acclimated to different careers in trade. They hope that they will be able to have a positive impact on women all over the nation.
