PepsiCo will be the first recipient of Tesla Founder Elon Musk’s electric semi-trucks which are ready to go into production after many ‘roadblocks’ that have been in the way.
On Thursday, Musk tweeted that the battery-powered Class 8 trucks, which have a 500-mile range and are “super fun to drive,” will come in on Dec.1.
The trucks will be capable of reducing fuel expenses and overall fleet emissions for the business.
Musk is also the CEO of SpaceX and is currently going through the procedures to purchase Twitter.
Because of shortages in the past, Tesla wasn’t able to begin production of the electric semi-trucks in 2019 as it had hoped to do.
Reports indicate that the truck is valued at $180,000 but is eligible for a congressional tax break of up to $40,000.
Musk didn’t disclose how many trucks would be delivered to PepsiCo although prior to this time period the company had reserved 100 of them.
