A pastor, volunteer, and substitute teacher from Grapevine is facing charges after being allegedly discovered with hidden cameras and child pornography.

The investigation into 38-year-old Arturo Alarcon began when Grapevine police received a tip regarding “spy cameras” located inside a mobile home he owns.

Alarcon served as an associate pastor at 121 Community Church, where the mobile home was used as temporary accommodation for families visiting the church.

When a visiting missionary couple discovered the cameras, they reported their findings to the church, which subsequently notified the police.

Detectives investigating the matter confiscated several electronic devices from Alarcon, including his cellphone, leading to his arrest after they uncovered an unrelated sexually explicit photo of a child on the device.

Alarcon now faces additional charges of invasive visual recording.
