4.2kviews

A man, who is supposed to be a pastor, and his wife, were apprehended for operating an unlawful group home. They are said to have kept eight physically and mentally challenged individuals against their will in a basement in Georgia.

When emergency crews arrived at a residence to assist someone who was having a seizure, they had to climb through a window. The basement was locked, so police were called.

Then, the group was discovered “locked in” at specific times of the day by the people caring for them.

The two arrested, Curtis Bankston, 55, and Sophia Bankston, 56, had been running a group home illegally and posing as a church named “One Step of Faith 2nd Chance.”

Authorities discovered that the disabled people were between the ages of 25 and 65. The property that the couple held the people in had been leased for 14 months.

Further in the investigation, detectives learned that the victims money, medicine, and public benefits were being controlled. They have now been put into DHS.

Additionally, the Bankston’s have been charged with false imprisonment.
