2.2kviews

A passenger onboard a Southwest Airlines flight caused panic after he escaped from the plane’s emergency exit hatch and fled the area.

The passenger ran onto the runway and attempted to drive off in a service truck before he was swiftly apprehended.

The plane, which was still on the tarmac at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, Louisiana, was en route to Atlanta, Georgia at the time of the incident Sunday night.

Many of the passengers still onboard the plane began to panic, thinking that the man must’ve left something dangerous on the plane before he ran away.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for an evaluation, however, no criminal charges have been filed at this time.

Officials say there were no safety concerns following their investigation.
