Parent Physically Assaults Teacher In Eanes ISD

According to a statement released by Eanes ISD Tuesday a teacher had her mask ripped off of her face by a parent.
They also said another teacher was yelled at by parents who claimed they couldn’t hear her speaking through her mask.
In response to the attacks Eanes ISD Superintendent Dr. Tom Leonard released a statement saying, “This type of behavior will not be tolerated in Eanes ISD. Our staff are on the front lines of this pandemic; let’s give them some space and grace,” Leonard wrote. “Please, I am asking everyone to be kind…do not fight mask wars in our schools.”
He also asked parents to be mindful of the children because they are learning by examples set by parents and staff.
Eanes ISD is one of the districts that recently set a mask mandate for its students, staff and visitors.
