Packages of Cocaine Continue Washing Up On South Texas Shores

Border Patrol agents discovered two packages of cocaine along the Padre Island National Seashore on Friday.

Dozens of packages of cocaine have been discovered along beaches in South Texas. Last month alone, $2.3 million worth of cocaine washed up on one Texas’ shorelines.

It’s unclear exactly where or how the drugs ended up in the ocean, however, officials say The Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt has also reached Texas.

The Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt is a 13-million-ton patch of seaweed that travels along the tides.
