Over 4 Million Fentanyl Laced Pills Seized By DEA And Arizona Authorities During Drug Sting

On Thursday, it was announced that millions of pills were seized in Tempe, Arizona.

The Drug Enforcement Administration of Arizona stated that over 150 people were apprehended in connection to the multi-agency’s goal to target the Sinaloa Drug Cartel.

In the process, 4.5 million fentanyl-laced fake prescription pills, 66 kilograms of fentanyl powder, 138 kilograms of cocaine, 3,100 pound of methamphetamine, 49 firearms, and $2 million in cash were seized.

The investigation was a component of the DEA’s work in “defeating the criminal drug cartels, Sinaloa and Jalisco.” They have persistently driven drug addiction and drug poisonings in neighborhoods throughout the country, harming the safe and health of Americans, the DEA noted.

The DEA added that fentanyl is produced in large quantities in hidden laboratories in Mexico with chemicals provided mostly by China. The criminals are producing the pills to look similar to prescription drugs like Oxycotin, Hydrocodone, Percocet, Xanax, and Adderall.

Last year, in Arizona, the DEA seized more than $22 million fentanyl-laced fake prescription pills, 500 kilograms of fentanyl powder, more than 10,000 pounds of methamphetamine, more than 1,400 kilograms of cocaine, and more than 400 pounds of heroin.
