Over 1,000 Dead Rodents Found At Family Dollar Facility

On Friday, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration stated that over 1,000 dead rodents were found at a Family Dollar Distribution Center in Arkansas. Thus, many items have been recalled at over 400 stores in the south part of the country.

After the administration received a complaint, investigators inspected the West Memphis, Arkansas building, last month. They located living and dead rodents, feces, urine, signs of biting, nesting and rodent smells throughout the location. They also found dead birds and bird droppings and items placed in conditions that weren’t safe against contamination.

Documents show that the business gathered 2,300 rodents from March to September of 2021.

The items that have been recalled include drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, dietary supplements, and human and pet food, stated the FDA.

Items bought at stores from Jan. 1, 2022 until now are under the recall. These include Family Dollar stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Items delivered directly to the store from the distributor or manufacturer aren’t apart of the recall.
