A person is dead after an officer shot him during an altercation outside of an Alabama elementary school Thursday morning.
According to reports a man was seen in the parking lot trying to either enter cars or the Walnut Park Elementary School, while school was in session.
The school resource officer, that works for Rainbow City PD, was contacted and went outside to confront the suspect.
During the confrontation an altercation occurred and the suspect was fatally shot. The SRO sustained minor injuries.
No students or other officers were injured.
The suspects identity has not been released at this time.
