Officer involved shooting in Dallas left a suspect and officer injured Saturday night.
Officers responded to a call on the 2100 block of S. Westmoreland and when they arrived they
observed a person wanted for multiple felonies. As officers approached the man, he fled in a pickup truck, driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Westmoreland Road.
Not long after the suspect crashed into another vehicle jumped out the vehicle and opened fire at police before fleeing the scene on foot.
The man was eventually found hiding in a shed with a self inflicted gunshot wound.
An officer was struck in the hand and transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was also transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
This investigation is ongoing.
