Off Duty Dallas Police Officer Shoots Son Mistaking Him For Intruder

An off duty Dallas police officer accidentally shot his son after mistaking him for an intruder Saturday evening in Desoto.
According to reports officers responded to a shooting call on the 1400 block of Carriage Creek Drive when an off duty officer called and said he shot his son that he thought was an intruder.
When officers arrived they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound and he was transported to a nearby hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Detectives are investigating what led up to the shooting and this investigation is ongoing.
