North Texas Rapist Confesses To Murdering Two People

2.1kviews

A man from North Texas, Reginald Kimbro, will spend the rest of his life in prison after confessing to killing two women.

In 2017, Molly Matheson, 22, was raped and killed, and Kimbro was set to go to trial in that case next week before he pleaded guilty. To add, on Friday, Kimbro also pleaded guilty to murdering a woman in Plano and committing several other rapes in Texas.

It was a great shock, this week, in a case that has gone on for years.

After Molly was killed in 2017, the Tarrant County DA’s office began to investigate. Molly and Reginald Kimbro had been in a brief relationship in college.

A few days after Molly was murdered, Kimbro raped and killed Megan Getrum, 36. This occurred as she was taking a hike near her residence one evening in Plano.

Authorities later found out that although not charged, Kimbro had been accused of other rapes in the past. Later, he was charged in some of those cases, as well.

Two years ago, Molly’s case was going to go to trial, but COVID struck. Although Molly’s relatives were ready for the trial, Kimbro’s guilty plea has provided them with something. “…having gone through and listening to him say ‘guilty, guilty, guilty,’ and ‘yes, yes, yes,’..there’s no story after this. He did it. He did all of it. He said so. And now, he will serve the rest of his life in prison. Justice has worked,” stated Tracy Matheson, Molly’s mother.

Another court hearing will take place Tuesday, allowing other victims an opportunity to be heard in court.
