Eduardo Arevalo, a man from Denton County, Texas, will spend 40 years in prison after admitting to killing his pregnant sister.

Arevalo was 19 years old when he murdered Viridiana Arevalo, 23. He pleaded guilty to felony murder.

In December 2019, Viridiana Arevalo was said to have been missing from her residence in The Colony, Texas.

Eduardo admitted to fatally choking his sister while she sat on a sofa. He disclosed to investigators that he placed her body in the trunk of his vehicle. He then transported it to a remote location in Fannin County, close to an hour away from the city.

When questioned about a motive for the killing, Eduardo told detectives that his sister was an embarrassment to their relatives and might as well be dead.

Detectives added that Eduardo wrote a letter to make it seem as though Viridiana took her own life.
