A senior football player at North Shore High School, in Harris County,Texas, was killed this past weekend at a house party.
Linebacker Jarvon Coles was expected to graduate this May and was going to attend Lamar University.
He had been at a house party on Saturday evening on Fieldwick Lane in the city of Humble.
Authorities had first been alerted to the residence to do a welfare check after reports of underage drinking. A little while later, they received another call that someone was unconscious.
When first responders arrived on the scene, they located Coles and learned that he had been shot.
“We believe that at some point during the party, a car occupied by multiple people drove by the location and fired several shots, striking our victim,” authorities in Harris County stated.
On Sunday, detectives went back to the scene and looked it over, hoping to find a recording depicting who began to shoot.
The place where the party occurred is a short-term rental. The owner of the home reported that a mother had rented out the space because she wanted to have a party for her son. She added that in the future, she will have to take more precautionary measures in determining who can rent out the property.
