A South Carolina father will not be facing criminal charges for the death of his twins.
The incident happened on September 1 when the father left his 20 month old twins in a hot car for 9 hours.
Sheriff Leon Lott is calling this incident a horrible accident.
Apparently the father was under intense pressure at work and forgot to drop the toddlers off at daycare that morning.
He went to work, completed his shift and went to the Blythewood facility to pick up his twins.
When the employee told him they were never there he went back to the car to find them in the backseat.
The father called 911 and immediately started performing cpr on them.
When emergency crews arrived they were pronounced dead.
Coroner Naida Rutherford said the twins died of hyperthermia or heat stroke.
The sheriffs office performed a 3 week investigation against the father before turning all evidence over to the Solicitor’s office.
After reviewing all evidence they chose to not file charges against the father.
