Nine People Shot And Wounded During Celebrations, Following Nuggets’ NBA Championship Title

Early Tuesday, nine people were shot in Denver, close to Ball arena, as people partied following the Nuggets’ first-ever NBA championship. Authorities say that the suspect was also shot. Three people are said to be in critical condition.

Police say that the incident occurred on Market Street after the Nuggets won 94-89, defeating the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the NBA finals.

Thousands of people had been in the area, celebrating. The shooting occurred more than three hours after the game and happened closer to a small amount of people. It is believed that some of those individuals were involved in a dispute.

The suspect was quickly found and was taken into custody.

An investigation is on-going.
