The daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett, 2-year-old Arrayah Barrett, has died after drowning on Sunday morning in the family’s swimming pool.
Around 9:30 a.m., authorities received a call in regards to a child falling into a pool.
The 2-year-old was taken to a medical facility that was close by, but she was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Although police are looking into the matter, it is thought that the tragedy was an accident.
Arrayah was one of the four children that Barrett shared with his wife, Jordanna.
On April 19, the last time Shaquil posted on his Instagram, he was celebrating Arrayah.
“Happy 2nd bday to my cutie girl. So sweet and cute. You made our family complete. I love you baby girl,” he wrote.
Through a statement, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers expressed their deep condolences to Barrett and his family.
