A California Newlywed couple were arrested by Special Agents from the Department of the Attorney General in Hawaii on Friday for breaking mandatory traveler self quarantine.
Borice Leouskiy,20 and Yuliia Andreichenko,26 of Citrus Heights, CA were in Hawaii for their Honeymoon and stayed at Waikiki-area hotel Wednesday after 10p.m..
They both had been raised in the Ukraine, Andreichenko is a Ukranian National and Leouskiy is a U.S. Citizen.
The front desk states that they had read the requirements of the self-quarantine order but the couple had already indicated that they had no such intentions on following the rules. While on the plane towards Hawaii the couple made remarks about all the places they intend to go to(visiting friends, going to parks, and going to beaches), and claims that the airport screeners said that this was acceptable.
Once they arrived at the hotel the manager tried to tell them the rules they would need to follow, but the couple only scoffed at him and proceeded to do what they wanted.
The couple returned at midnight with a pizza, again they had been stopped and told their actions were not in permission of the quarantine, they told the manager that they were allowed to do it. They checked in but refused to sign the required quarantine acknowledgement.
Finally on Thursday morning, the hotel had enough of the couple when they had been informed that they had left the hotel once again.
AG Special Investigator was called and they arrested the couple, they will be charged under Hawaii Revised Statutes for unsworn falsification to authority and violation of the 14-day quarantine.
