A recent study has shown that Viagra can cause a person to go blind.

The University of British Columbia conducted a study of 200,000 men. They reportedly found that using erectile disfunction drugs such as Viagra, Cialis, Levitra and Stendra can more than “double” conditions that can lead to blindness.

The study found that guys using the medication had a 2.5 times greater risk of retinal detachment. They also had twice the chance of compromising their blood supply to the optic nerve.

Despite the elevated risks of conditions that could lead to blindness, the chances slim.

Speculations for why this is happening has to do with blood flow. Medications like Viagra improve blood flow in certain parts of the body. Therefore, shorting blood flow to other parts of the body, like the eyes.
