Two high school football coaches from New Jersey were among six people who tragically lost their lives in a severe crash on Friday night.

Lamar McKnight, the 32-year-old head coach of Hudson Catholic, and his 41-year-old assistant coach Brad Cunningham both died in the incident. Also confirmed as a victim was McKnight’s brother, Darryl McKnight.

Reports indicate that the accident happened around 10:45 PM on the Pulaski Skyway at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard and Blanchard Street.

It appears the vehicle went off the southbound ramp, became airborne, and struck a support column, igniting a fire. By the time emergency responders arrived, all six occupants of the vehicle had been pronounced dead at the scene.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is scheduled to hold a news conference on Monday to provide updates on the investigation into this heartbreaking crash.
