Reports indicate that a new drug named Isotonitazene, or “Iso” has been discovered in Florida. Because of this, officials have sent out a warning.
Fentanyl is already a dangerous drug, but ISO is 20 to 100 times more potent than that. The opioid has been seen on the drug market after it has been combined with other drugs. It is said to come in a pill or powder form.
“For years, we have been warning about the dangers of fentanyl and how just one pill laced with this synthetic opioid can kill. Now, a new, deadlier drug is being found in Florida. ISO is so strong that it can kill just by coming in contact with someone’s skin or being accidentally inhaled,” stated Attorney General Ashley Moody.
She added that Iso has already been connected to deaths caused by an overdose, in Florida. Moreover, Narcan nasal spray may not work as well when experiencing an Iso overdose because of how strong the drug is.
