Dikembe Mutombo has sadly passed away today at the age of 58 due to brain cancer.
He was selected as the fourth overall pick in the 1991 NBA draft by the Denver Nuggets following a stellar career at Georgetown University.
Mutombo was an eight-time NBA All-Star and a four-time Defensive Player of the Year. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015.
Throughout his career, Mutombo played for several teams, including the Nuggets, Atlanta Hawks, Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks, and Houston Rockets.
