A 27-year-old man is charged with murder after police say he attacked a driver delivering firewood while naked.
Christantus Omondi was arrested on Saturday after Fort Worth Police were called to a residence on Wendover Drive for reports of an assault.
When officers arrived, they discovered Omondi fully naked terrorizing another resident, and 51-year-old Scotty Jackson dead in the front yard nearby.
According to police, a homeowner ordered a U-Haul full of firewood to be delivered during the winter freeze over the weekend.
Shortly after Jackson arrived to deliver the shipment, Omondi, who was renting an Airbnb at the residence, approached him aggressively.
The suspect was waving keys in the air and saying he was the homeowner, demanding Jackson to leave. Then things took a turn for the worse.
Omondi attacked the homeowner, chasing him inside the home before going back and attacking Jackson with the firewood. The 51-year-old’s body was discovered with severe blunt force trauma to the head shortly after.
After killing the Jackson, the suspect retreated into the residence where he threatened another tenant before the police arrived.
Omondi is charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault of A Security Officer, and Obstruction. He remains in the Tarrant County Corrections Center with a $312,000 bond.
People need to get educated about mental illness. Praying for all.
Quarter Mile from both my buddies houses. Praise god nobody was seriously hurt…or worse.
