A woman in Allen was apprehended after a SWAT standoff following allegations of her abusing her children, arrest documents show.
36-year-old Lul Top was taken into custody on Monday morning at a residence on Tanglewood Drive.
Authorities say that Top enclosed herself inside the attic of the residence. This was done as law enforcement attempted to issue a warrant. She was apprehended after two hours.
A cell phone recording from a neighbor depicts Top with her hands behind her back.
On Jan. 8, authorities in Allen were summoned to Top’s residence after she is said to have beat her husband with a stick in the presence of her six children.
Child Protective Services took the children from the home following that occurrence.
A 3-year-old disclosed that Top had attempted to put her inside of an hot oven. A 10-year-old stated that he had to physically fight his mother to get the 3-year-old away from the hot oven. He then carried the child upstairs to keep her safe. A 4-year-old noted that they witnessed the occurrence.
The children also told police that Top drank a lot of alcohol and instructed them to look for more if she ran out. She threatened to cut their fingers off with a cleaver knife if they didn’t find any.
Records show that two of the smaller children had cuts on them that they stated was a result of their mother’s actions.
One boy also told investigators that his mother had put a knife to his tongue. He added that he was forced to drink alcohol although he spit it out.
Authorities say that they have been to the residence 11 times since Jan. 1.
Top is now facing six counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is in the Collin County Jail where she is held on a $600,000 bond.
