A mother from Texas is wanted for abandoning her 12-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. She left them home by themselves for over a month and may be in Alabama, authorities say.
Raven Yates is wanted by authorities in Texas on two counts of abandoning or endangering a child without the intent to return. This is after she left her children by themselves “without access to food or medical supplies.” Roman Forest, Texas, police say that this was from Sep. 28 to Nov. 14.
The father of the children, who resides in California, flew to Texas as soon as he discovered that the children had been left alone. His daughter had been calling him continously, requesting food.
Authorities say that the children have now been handed over to family members in Alabama.
The father noted that Yates had been observed in Mobile without the children who hadn’t been enrolled in school.
Roman Forest authorities and Mobile police are now working together on the matter.
