On the evening of March 20, a fatal stabbing took place between a mother and son in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Close to 10:45 p.m., Mountain Home Police received a call. Rebecca Lynn Henley, 44, had disclosed that she had just awaken and stabbed her son.

When police arrived to the scene, they located a 16-year-old male with a stab injury to his chest.

He was taken to a medical facility where he died from his injuries.

When questioned by authorities, Henley said that “she had to kill him for righteousness, to save everybody.” She had just be given custody of the teen 12 days prior to his killing. This came after Henley said that her estranged husband shouldn’t have custody of the boy. She had said that his father was a drug addict, would perform lewd sex acts in front of the family, and she was concerned for her son mentally, physically, and financially.

Henley was apprehended and faces first-degree murder charges. Her bail has been set at $500,000.

An investigation in the matter is continuing.
