27-year-old Alondra Hobbs, of Atlanta, Georgia, was apprehended after her 7-year-old daughter’s body was found decaying in a closet inside of a vacant apartment.
Hobbs is facing charges of felony murder and cruelty in the second degree in the death of Alivia Hobbs-Jordan. The mother was in a hospital on Friday.
Last Sunday, an officer discovered the girl’s body in the apartment located outside of Atlanta after someone called them regarding a child’s deceased body in a closet.
A neighbor reported that someone had moved out of the apartment months earlier and hadn’t been seen since. An officer observed seeing a full head of hair and an arm that was decomposing and leg in the closet.
Documents show that another officer discovered a piece of mail that contained the name Alondra Hobbs on it.
How the girl died hasn’t been publicly released.
