Mother Arrested in Death of 6-Year-Old Daughter Who Was Found Unresponsive and Covered in Bruises

A Bronx mother was arrested after paramedics found her 6-year-old daughter covered in bruises and unconscious. The little girl was transported to the hospital where she later died.

Lynija Eason, 26, called 911 on Friday at around 4 a.m. to report her daughter being unconscious. Police responded to the residence on East 165th Street in Morrisania and found 6-year-old Jalayah Eason unresponsive in Lynija’s bedroom.

The girl was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

According to reports, an 8-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, who also had bruises and injuries, were removed from the home following the incident.

The 6-year-old’s cause of death is pending and will be determined by the Medical Examiner.

The mother was arrests and charged with 2 counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was granted supervised release on Tuesday.

  1. She should not be able to see the light of day. She killed her child who depended on her to care, love and most of all protect her. She needs to be in jail like the monster she is. Life sentence without parole!!

  2. Poor kids, your mother is the one that should protect you from the crazy world but this turned out they needed to be protected from her. This is a very sad story and i hope the kids are placed with a family member that can love them loke they should be loved. 🥹🥹🥹
