Police have arrested a woman after family members found her deceased daughter’s body in a Houston apartment complex closet.
According to reports Sierra Patino,5 hadn’t been seen by family members in a few days so they went to the mother Priscilla Torres,27 home at Quail Creek Apartments.
When they arrived to the apartments family members say they smelled a foul odor coming from a closet and when they opened the door they discovered the little girls lifeless body.
Police arrived and Torres told officers that her daughter had ingested some chemicals on August 23 while in the bathtub but she didn’t report it because she was afraid CPS would take her baby.
On August 27 she said her daughter died after not being able to keep any food down or stand up on her own.
She then said she wrapped her daughter in a blanket and placed her in the closet not wanting “to let her go”.
Officers arrested Torres Tuesday and charged her with tampering with evidence- human corpse and she may face additional charges depending on autopsy report.
This investigation is ongoing.
