Arizona police are investigating a shooting that left a 38 year old woman Friday morning.
According to reports Casa Grande police were called to an apartment complex on Florence Boulevard and Peart Road around 6:20am.
Upon arrival they found the victim, Michelle Cox,38 suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
She was airlifted to a hospital in Chandler where she died from her injuries.
During the investigation officers learned Cox was at home with her boyfriend and four children.
No one else was injured.
Officers believe that the shooting was accidental.
Casa Grande police are working with the Pinal County Attorney’s Office to determine whether a crime occurred.
The investigation remains ongoing.
