Money, Drugs, And Guns Found After Financial Crime Investigated

On July 7, 2021, an individual filed an offense report with the Dallas Police Department. They indicated that someone had their personal information and was utilizing it to rent a condominium on the 1700 block of Bennett Ave.

While looking into the matter, Detective Luis Velazquez was able to collect enough evidence to get a search warrant.

This is the second one that was issued in regards to the complaint’s personal information being used illegally.

On November 10, a search took place at the location by the Central Crime Response Team and Deployment covert officers.

There, officers found 32 year-old, Taylor Smith inside of the residence. He was apprehended, transported to Dallas Police Headquarters, and questioned.

Officials uncovered $250,000 in cash, more than 1601bs. of marijuana, four guns, and drug paraphernalia during the search. A money counting machine, 2018 Ford F-150, and “other criminal evidence” were also found.

Smith now faces a possession of marijuana charge which is a second- degree felony.
