A 16 year old girl that was seen being kidnapped in New York Monday night while with her mother has admitted to staging the kidnapping.
Karol Sanchez,16 was walking with her mother in the Bronx Monday night around 11:30 when a group of four men pushed her mother to the ground, snatched Karol, threw her in a sedan and drove away.
Her mother contacted police and NYPD issued a statewide Amber Alert for the missing teen.
Sanchez returned back to the scene where she was abducted from Tuesday afternoon around 2:30pm and told authorities that she was unhappy because her family was talking about moving back to their native town of Honduras.
Officers took the teen back to the 40th Precinct where she was questioned and reunited with her mother.
Sanchez told authorities that she staged her own kidnapping and had four accomplices help her.
Investigators have not filed any charges at this time and said they are waiting until they speak with everyone involved to determine what charges will be filed.
