Marissa Grimes, a 26-year-old woman from Arlington, Texas, was reported missing on February 16 after not being seen since February 12.
Now, authorities say that they found Grimes deceased below a Fort Worth residence. A male who has a past of domestic violence against her has been apprehended. Grimes had also had an emergency protective order against him.
On Monday, detectives located a car connected with Grimes’ case. That led to details about the suspect’s residence in the 5800 block of Locke Avenue. After a search warrant was conducted on Tuesday, officers found items that revealed that Grimes’ corpse was in or close to the home.
A body was then discovered underneath the home, and it was confirmed to be Grimes.
Valerian Osteen is accused of the murder. He had just been apprehended in January for domestic violence against Grimes. When he was released on bail, an emergency protective order was put into place, and he was forbidden from contacting her.
Although Osteen hasn’t been charged yet, his previous bond has been revoked. He is currently being held at the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
