Maryland teen Jai’lyn Jones, 17, was reported missing on January 24. Authorities recovered Jones’ body three days later near a neighborhood creek. Jones suffered multiple stab wounds to his head and torso.
Jones told people that he was to meet with “Tay” before he disappeared. On May 12, police issued an arrest warrant for Ta’Quawn Henderson, who is also 17. Henderson turned himself in three days later.
Henderson’s DNA was found on Jones’ clothes. This lead to Henderson being charged as an adult with first degree murder.
Police are still investigating, seeking a motive for this crime as well as if other people were involved.
If Henderson is found guilty, he is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison.
