Missing 13-Year-Old, Kei’Mani Latigue, Found Deceased in Abandoned Home, Father Charged with Murder

On Monday authorities discovered the body of 13-year-old Kei’Mani Latigue, who had been missing since March 18. Her father, Darnell Jones,33, has been charged with her murder.

The girl’s remains were found on the second floor of an abandoned, burned building on Miami Street in Toledo. An autopsy indicated she died from multiple incised wounds to the neck.

Initially, Darnell Jones, 33, was charged with abduction, but following the discovery of Latigue’s body, the Toledo Police upgraded the charges to murder and issued an open warrant for his arrest.

On Tuesday, the Columbus Police SWAT team assisted the Toledo Police Department in capturing Jones. During this encounter, he allegedly pointed a gun at the officers, prompting a SWAT officer to discharge their weapon, hitting him.

A firearm was recovered at the scene, and authorities have reported that Jones is in stable condition at a hospital in the Columbus area.

In addition to the murder and abduction charges, Jones is also facing charges of felonious assault.
