Milwaukee Transit Reserved A Seat In Honor Of Rosa Parks

1.4kviews

This past weekend Milwaukee County Transit System reserved one seat on each of their buses in honor of civil rights leader Rosa Parks.
Milwaukee Transit had one seat on each bus reserved with a rose and a sign with her name and picture on it.
Parks was arrested back on December 1,1955 after refusing to give her seat to a white man on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
Her arrest sparked a boycott against the Montgomery Transit System and eventually led to the Supreme Court banning segregation on buses.
