A Mansfield resident, 33-year-old Lyndsey Vicknair, has been identified as one of the people killed while attending Saturday night’s Juneteenth celebration. This was at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas.

54-year-old Ara Duke of Pflugerville was killed, as well.

Vicknair’s husband, Kevin, stated that he and his wife were watching the concert and then heard gunfire. Lyndsey had been in the middle of the crossfire.

“She said ‘I’m hit, I said ‘you’re hit where?’ That’s when I pulled her out of the chair. I was feeling for where she was hit, and it felt wet on her back,” Kevin said.

Lyndsey had been hit in the back by a bullet. Kevin did perform CPR on her, but she succumbed to her wounds.

“I didn’t have any equipment or anything. Help just didn’t arrive in time,” he reported.

Lyndsey was a lawyer and leaves three children, ages 7, 4, and 1 to cherish her memory.

In total, 14 people were injured and transported to a medical facility. None of them were involved in the altercation that had taken place between two groups before the shooting.

Authorities are searching for a Black male, 19 to 20 years old, 5’7″ with a thin build and short dreads. He had last been observed with a white hoodie on and is thought to be armed and dangerous.

Lyndsey Vicknair is set to be buried on Saturday, June 22nd, in Mansfield. A GoFundMe has been set up to assist with expenses.
