Man Who Returned To US After Being Deported Is Given A 99-Year Prison Sentence For Child Sexual Abuse
Ismael Lopez, 39, was in the US after already being deported subsequent to a conviction in 2017.
Now, he has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for sexual abuse of a child in Plano. He will not have any possibility of parole.
According to documents, Lopez was well associated with the victim’s family. The abuse transpired over three years until the child reached 13 years-old.
Although Lopez told the victim to keep the abuse a secret, the child eventually told a relative what was going on. Lopez was apprehended after a forensic interview with the victim was completed.
During the sentencing phase of his trial, it was said that the man had a criminal record that includes assault, DWI, and possession of a controlled substance. In 2017, he was given to federal immigration custody after serving prison time for those offenses. He later came back to the US.
