Man Shot On Highway While Trying To Get Help With Car

On Wednesday morning, a man was shot as he sought assistance with his car. Now, police in Fort Worth are looking for the suspect.

Around 2:18 p.m., officers were called to the crossing of westbound Interstate 20 and the northbound entrance ramp onto the South Loop 820.

When they arrived on the scene, they discovered a man with a gunshot injury to his hand.

The victim stated that his car was having mechanical problems, and he decided to stop on the side of the highway. He attempted to get the attention of other  drivers when the suspect pulled over.

The suspect then exited the car, pulled out a gun, and shot at the victim prior to driving away.

The man was transported to a medical facility with a gunshot injury to his finger. Authorities say that he was in good  condition.

No one has been apprehended in the shooting. However, the FWPD Gun Violence Unit will continue to look into the matter.
