Man Shot In Deep Ellum After Seeing Suspect Trying To Break Into His Car

Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured early Thursday morning in Deep Ellum.

Shortly after 12 a.m., officers responded to a shooting call at N. Malcolm X and Main Street. Upon arriving they found a man lying in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where he sustained non life threatening injuries.

According to authorities the victim saw a person that appeared to be breaking into their silver Camaro. The victim yelled at the suspect and then as he got closer to the vehicle the suspect shot the man and fled the scene.

Authorities are working to review video surveillance so they can quickly identify the suspect. This is an ongoing investigation.
