Man Shot And Robbed While Trying To Purchase A Motorcycle From Someone Online, In Rowlett

A Rowlett resident is facing charges after shooting an area neighbor Friday.

Around 7 p.m., Rowlett police responded to a shooting call on the 6100 block of San Marino Dr.

Upon arriving they noticed a 44 year old Hispanic male on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Officers applied a tourniquet until medics arrived and transported the man to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The victim told officers that he was shot by 47 year old Craig Marty Mazique, someone he met online that was selling a motorcycle.

Rowlett police went to a residence in the area where they found Mazique and a 47 year old woman inside. Both people were detained and Mazique was arrested for outstanding warrants.

The victim was able to identify Mazique and told authorities during the meet up that Mazique shot him and took his cellphone.

Mazique was then charged with aggravated robbery in addition to his outstanding warrants.
