A man is in custody facing criminal charges after having an altercation with a Dallas security guard early Sunday morning.
The shooting happened around 3:45 a.m. when officers responded to a shooting call on the 11000 block of Harry Hines Blvd.
Authorities were informed that a uniformed commissioned security guard, 26 year old David Thomas, had escorted 32 year old Marqurius Lambert from the property. Lambert then went to his vehicle and grabbed a handgun.
The two men began to fight over the weapon and Thomas was able to grab his weapon and shoot Lambert.
Lambert fled the scene in a vehicle before crashing out and fleeing on foot.
About an hour later Lambert went to an area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound and was arrested by police.
He was taken to Dallas County jail and charged with assault on a security guard.
