Man Receives Sentence For Murder After Dumping Pregnant Girlfriend’s Body On Expressway

On Wednesday, 33-year-old Goey Charles was given 25 years to life in prison for the killing of his pregnant girlfriend who he later dumped on the side of the highway in Queens, New York.

Charles had been convicted of second-degree murder for the October 2020 killing of Vanessa Pierre, 29.

A surveillance camera had shown Charles dragging Pierre’s lifeless body from a vehicle and dumping her on the ground on a highway in Bayside.

At the beginning, Pierre could be seen squirming in the backseat of her 2019 Dodge Challenger.

However, an hour later, Charles got out of the car, pulling Pierre’s body on the idle sidewalk. He then returned to the vehicle which belonged to Pierre.

A bus driver later discovered Pierre’s body as she had gray sweatpants wrapped around her throat. Authorities say that she was wearing an orange shirt, red pajamas, and had a sock on one foot.

Three days later, Charles was apprehended.

An autopsy revealed that Pierre died from asphyxia die to compression of the neck.

Pierre was a nurse practitioner who was six months pregnant with Charles’s daughter.

Her sister noted that family members attempted to get Pierre to leave Charles, calling him a pathological liar who wasn’t employed. She added that the pair had moved too fast as they had been together less than a year. Nonetheless, Pierre was excited about having a baby.
