Man Receives 10-Year Sentence In Murder For Hire Plot Against His Alleged Sex Victim

A man in Missouri has been given a 10-year prison sentence after he confessed to attempting to hire a hitman to kill a boy he is said to have sexually assaulted.

On Tuesday, the Department of Justice stated that Jon Mark Wilson, 58, gave an undercover officer $2,000 to kill his alleged victim.

Wilson had already been facing two counts of first-degree statutory sodomy in Pettis County when he tried to obtain a hitman in 2019.

Authorities found out about the plot when someone that Wilson first tried to hire told police. Detectives then had an undercover officer meet Wilson in Kansas.

Wilson also expressed his desire to have the victim’s mother, who is Wilson’s ex-wife, killed. However, he didn’t have enough funds for both murders.

Thus, officials state that Wilson wished that the mother would just kill herself once she found out that her child was dead.

After the initial $2,000, Wilson planned to pay another $5,000 when the boy was killed. He provided a picture of the child that he is said to have molested and 12 shotgun shells to execute the murder.

When Wilson traveled back over state lines, he was arrested.

In September 2021, he pleaded guilty to one count of the use of interstate facilities in the commission of murder for hire.

Wilson still faces two sodomy charges.
