Michael Raines, a dump truck worker from Petersburg, Virginia, took a really big chance, and it was worth it.
He purchased forty lottery tickets with all the same four numbers and actually won.
The prize of each ticket was $5,000 each. Therefore, he won $200,000.
“It’s my time to shine. I knew a win was going to come. I just didn’t know when,” he exclaimed.
Raines purchased 40 Pick 4 Lottery Tickets in the summer. Players can choose any numbers between 0000 to 9999. Raines decided on 1-2-2-0.
The numbers he chose held value because that was the date of his mother’s passing. He believes she was looking out for him.
Plans on how he will spend the money have not been disclosed.
The lottery tickets he chose were $1.00 each. The odds of matching all four numbers are 1 in 10,000.
