Jerricka Scott is a kindergarten teacher in South Carolina, and May 27 was such a special day for her and her class.
While a surprise ceremony took place in her school’s gym, the teacher got engaged in the presence of her relatives, friends, and her entire kindergarten class.
The Greensboro School District 50 wrote a message on Facebook. “Today at Hodges Elementary School’s Friday Celebration, the students and staff celebrated as they witnessed kindergarten teacher Jerricka Scott say “Yes” to her fiance’s proposal. Ms. Scott was totally surprised and so were all the students as they rejoiced in this celebratory moment for her.”
Scott was recently named ‘Teacher of the Year’ at the school.
Because she feels that her students are a part of her family, Jahmar Tate, Scott’s fiance, decided to propose in front of them.
“It’s important for me to make sure that she knows that we’re a family together. It’s me and you, but they’re a part of your family. They’re a part of mine, too.
Tate also works at a school as a counselor.
A video that is circulating the internet depicts individuals holding a banner that read, ‘Will You Marry Me?’ Balloons were also seen as Scott walked the gym floor to embrace Tate.
“When he came into my life, it was unexpected, but I knew right away that this was my person. I’m just so looking forward to every day from this point on,” Scott stated when interviewed.
The couple have been dating since 2018.
Congratulations
