An Alabama police officer is on administrative leave after a video, of her repeatedly using a stun gun on a handcuffed man has surfaced. This incident took place on December 2.
In the video clip, a police officer, is seen leading 24-year-old Micah Washington to a cruiser. She is then seen pushing his head against the hood. His hands were cuffed and Washington is heard screaming, yet he managed to tell the police officer that he had a gun. He appears to cooperate with the officer in the video as well. Washington’s girlfriend, Jalexis Rice, told local NBC affiliate WVTM13 that Washington and two others had pulled over to the side of the road to change a flat tire. The officer pulled up behind them and grabbed Washington before shocking him with the stun gun, Rice said.
Washington is now planning to sue the police department for $20 million over this incident.
The officer is Dana Elmore and the police chief has yet to confirm, nor deny that she is the officer in question as this investigation is still ongoing.
