Eric Maund, 41, is accused of paying a former Israeli soldier and two ex-Marines to abduct and kill his former mistress and her mate.

Maund, whose family operates a Volkswagen and Toyota dealership in Austin, is said to have paid the men $750,000. This was done to eliminate Holly Williams, 33 and William Lanway, 36. The two were killed on March 12, 2020.

Authorities said the ordeal began when Maund reached out to Williams, attempting to meet up while he was visiting Nashville, Tennessee.

Lanway then sent text messages to Maund demanding money and threatening to tell his wife about the affair he had previously had with Williams.

Maund then asked Gilad Peled, the 47-year-old who received the wired funds, Byron Brockway, 46, and Adam Carey, 30 for their help.

On the day of the killings, Brockway and Carey shot Lanway several times in the hallway of an apartment building. They then snatched Williams, drove her vehicle to a construction site, killed her, and dumped her body.

All four men were arrested Friday. They are charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, kidnapping resulting in death, and more.
